On August 28, 29, 30–Head for the Hills will head north (Minneapolis, Grand Forks, & Fargo) for a special string of shows with very special guest, Billy Nershi joining the fun. We couldn’t be more excited! Stealin’ Strings will also be joining the festivities each of the evenings. The run culminates in Fargo, ND with “AquaFest,” featuring a full day of music from an array of artists.

BRISTOL RHYTHM & ROOTS REUNION
PERFORMING SEPTEMBER 20TH & 21TH

In September the band will leave for the first trip to Tennessee as they will be performing at the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion in Bristol, TN on September 20th and 21st. We have heard so many wonderful things about this gathering and are honored to be performing there. Other performers include: Ralph Stanley, Sam Bush, The Infamous Stringdusters and many more!!!

H4TH returns to Ft. Collins to close out their 2008 summer tour, at the Aggie Theatre. This will be the band’s first performance in their hometown since May, where the band sold-out the legendary Mishawaka Amphitheatre w/ special guest Billy Nershi. Head for the Hills was recently named the 2007 NWSS Band Competititon Winners! Thanks to all our friends and fans for supporting us on our first trip to Oregon. Our kindest thanks goes out to the festival staff, and Yonder Mountain String Band for hosting such a wonderful event at the always beautiful Horning’s Hideout. See you at the Summit in ‘08!

Thanks for your continued energy and support! Head for the Hills was voted the #1 Favorite Local Band among students at Colorado State University via a university-wide poll conducted by the Rocky Mountain Collegian. This honor is shared with our dear friends the 3 Peas; amazing band, congratulations to them. We cannot thank you (the fans) enough for the loyalty and passion you provide to Head for the Hills. Head for the Hills is proud to announce that they have complete of recording their first full-length studio album. The album symbolically titled “Robber’s Roost” was released in early 2007.

For this studio effort, Head for the Hills joined forces with the esteemed and revered producer/performer Sally Van Meter. Sally, among her impressive list of amazing accomplishments, is noted for her 1994 Grammy Award Winning work on The Great Dobro Sessions as well as her work with Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, and David Grisman on The Songs of Jimmie Rodgers - A Tribute. In addition, she has produced albums and recordings for several artists including Yonder Mountain String Band and Open Road Bluegrass.

Needless to say, Head for the Hills is ecstatic that they have the opportunity to work with such a talented individual. On this album, one can expect a collection of organic compositions ranging from traditional stylings to the progressive sound that has come to define this young band.
